What are Sensitive Teeth?

Sensitive teeth occur when the dentin – the layer under the outermost enamel – becomes exposed, or if the gum line recedes, which exposes sensitive nerves that connect to the root of the tooth.

What Causes Sensitive Teeth?

This can be caused by a variety of factors including tooth decay, brushing too hard or using a hard-bristled toothbrush, gum disease, teeth grinding, plaque build-up, acidic foods, and general wear over time.
